Celebration of Uttar Pradesh Divas on January 24 was started by Srijan Foundation itself in 2016, which in 2017 was officially declared by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as Uttar Pradesh Divas and on January 24, 2018, for the first time, Uttar Pradesh Divas was celebrated in the official form.

The organization started giving its Uttar Pradesh Divas the form of a festival in 2018 and in 2018 made it 4 days. A congratulatory letter was also received by Hon'ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji to start Uttar Pradesh Day in 2016.
Since the Uttar Pradesh Mahotsav was started with the objective of giving a grand look to the Uttar Pradesh Divas, therefore, through this festival, it is the priority to bring forth the handicrafts, cottage industries, products, talents of Uttar Pradesh.
